
Simon Borrows
Simon was appointed Chief Executive in 2012 after joining 3i in October 2011 as Chief Investment Officer. Prior to joining 3i he spent 13 years at Greenhill & Co. Simon founded the European business of Greenhill and became Co-President of the Group on its floatation on the NYSE in 2004 and Co-Chief Executive in 2007.
Before starting Greenhill in Europe, he was CEO of Baring Brothers International Limited (the corporate finance division of ING Barings), a position he held since 1995, and a director of Barings Brothers from 1989-1995. Prior to joining Baring Brothers in 1988, he worked in the corporate finance department of Morgan Grenfell.
Simon has a law degree from London University and an MBA from London Business School. He is a Non-Executive Director of Inchcape plc and The British Land Company PLC and sits on an advisory board at The National Theatre.
