The Private Equity Awards 2008 Further reinforcing its position as a world leader in private equity, 3i has won House of the Year and Large Deal of the Year (NCP) at the annual Private Equity Awards, hosted by RealDeals and BVCA. The judging panel acknowledged 3i's 'seminal' year, including investment of over £1.2bn and the successful launch of 3i Quoted Private Equity Limited. For NCP, the judges were impressed by the cleverly structured finance package, the increase in employee numbers and the subsequent sale of half the business, with 3i retaining the high-growth NCP Services.

Danish Venture Capital & Private Equity Association: Awards 2008 Congratulations to 3i Copenhagen who have been awarded Deal of the Year, for the 2007 realisation of Danish marine valve manufacturer Damcos. The judges considered how the 3i team had contributed to the strategic development of the company, making particular note of the fact that international growth was achieved with no reduction in the Danish workforce.

Private Equity International: Awards 2007 Thank you to the readers of PEI for voting us their European Mid-Market Firm of the Year. The eighth annual PEI awards received more than ten thousand votes across 70 categories from our industry peers.

In addition, the editorial team at PEI separately selected the companies they felt were: 'head of the pack, not just regionally but globally.' Again, 3i won Mid-Market Firm of the Year, being recognised for our transparency and secure foundation.

Acquisitions Monthly Awards 2008 3i has won Private equity firm of the year in the annual Acquisitions Monthly awards. The award is recognition for our exceptional year in terms of performance, strategic development and contribution to the industry.

Project Finance International Awards 2007 2007 was a significant year for 3i and we have been voted Private Equity House of the Year. PFI recognised our investment in the US$1bn Indian infrastructure fund and the successful launch of 3i Infrastructure plc.

Financial Times and Mergermarket M&A awards 2007 3i has won Private Equity Firm of the Year in Europe at the inaugural Financial Times and Mergermarket M&A awards, after impressing judges with the sheer intensity of its activity. Phil Yea, CEO, attended and accepted the award from the BBC’s Declan Curry.

Sunday Times Tech Track 100 Two of our Venture Capital portfolio companies have been named in the Sunday Times Tech Track 100. Apatech, the global leader in synthetic bone graft technologies came 13th in the list and Eqos, a supplier of on-demand retail supply solutions came 93rd. The Tech Track 100 ranks Britain’s fastest-growing private tech companies based on sales growth over the latest two years.

ACR Asia Capital Reinsurance Group 3i portfolio company Asia Capital Reinsurance Group has won the 'Company Launch of the Year' Award in The Review's Worldwide Reinsurance Awards 2007.

This is in addition to The Asset, one of Asia's leading financial magazines, naming ACR's US$620m private placement as the 'Most Innovative Deal - Equity' in its Triple A House and Deal Awards 2006.

 

European Mid-Market Firm of the Year 2007: 3i At the Financial News Awards for Excellence in Private Equity 2007 (Europe), on 30th April, 3i was delighted to be named European Mid-Market Firm of the Year.

Sunday Times Profit Track 100 We are pleased to announce that several of our portfolio companies have been listed in the The Sunday Times Profit Track 100, which ranks Britain's fastest-growing private companies by average profit growth over the last three years of available audited accounts. Current investments are Fairline Boats, Care Principles and RBG, whilst our former investment Azzurri Communications is also listed.

'Private Equity Magazine', France, votes 3i Best Private Equity Partner 3i competed with Apax, Atria, Barclays PE, Bridgepoint, Cognetas, Eurazéo, Industri Kapital and won the "Best Partner" award at this week's Private Equity Magazine Awards in Paris. 3i won acclaim for its value-add partnership with Keolis, a leading European urban and inter-urban transport operator.

3i wins 'Private Equity Exit of the Year' Successful for the third year running at the annual Acquisitions Monthly awards, 3i has won Private Equity Exit of the Year for its management and sale of telecommunications company Azzurri. The judges stated that: "The winner is a model of a buy-and-build strategy. An entrepreneur’s proven acquisition skills were backed to build a national company. After successfully integrating 15 acquisitions, the private equity investor exited in 2006 with an IRR of 38% and 4.9X times money."
