- Anglian Water Group, UK, owner of fourth largest water/waste company in England and Wales, £140m
- Oystercatcher, NL/MT/SG, provider of third-party storage facilities for oil and petroleum products, £84.5m
- Alpha Schools, UK, concession company under 30-year PFI contract to build, operate and maintain 11 new schools in the Scottish Highlands, £5m
- T2C, Germany, constructor of a new-build waste-to-energy plant to generate heat and power from refuse-derived fuels, £6.5m

In 2008, 3i raised the US$1.2 billion 3i India Infrastructure Fund to apply the successful investment strategy of 3i’s global infrastructure business to the rapidly growing Indian infrastructure market. The Fund, which closed 20% above target, received commitments from a total 16 limited partners, including US$250m commitments from both 3i and 3i Infrastructure.
The 3i India Infrastructure Fund's portfolio includes investments in:
- Adani Power, developer of a portfolio of power plants across India, US$227m
- Soma Enterprise, an infrastructure developer focussing on build-operate-transfer (BOT) projects, US$101m
- Krishnapatnam Port Company Ltd, US$161m, concession company to develop, operate and maintain the Krishnapatnam port
