Associate - Shangai
Role purpose
The 3i China team is an established, experienced local team with a good track record. 3i has invested c$250m in the last 5 years and has been able to react to the market and make responsive decision. We are looking for 1 additional key member of the global growth capital team to join at the Associate level, and be based in Shangai. As a member of the market facing investment team, the Associate will lead initial team discussions, clearly articulating value arguments in an investment case and actively use their 3i sector knowledge in their analysis. This role is attractive to anyone seeking to establish a platform of skills which could lead to a longer term partnership role. Responsibilities
- EVALUATING AND TRANSACTING INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITIES THROUGH:
- financial analysis and modelling
- identifying key areas of risk and opportunity
- able to articulate an investment case orally and in writing to gain internal support
- ability to structure deals to meet the stakeholder requirements
- demonstrating strong commercial judgement considering a range of factors before reaching a conclusion
- demonstrating a rigorous and commercial approach to due diligence
- showing good judgement in deciding and implementing tactics to win a deal
- demonstrating good project management skills
- using strong interpersonal and influencing skills to implement an agreed course of action
- CONTRIBUTING TO OUR DEAL ORIGINATION AND MARKETING BY:
- demonstrating an ability to build and maintain a relevant external network which delivers deal opportunities
- building and maintaining a strong internal network to gain knowledge to improve 3i’s decision making and competitive edge
- supporting the team’s knowledge sharing, including sharing of contact knowledge and maintenance of data on core systems.
