Role purpose
To provide IT consultancy and technical implementation, working closely with Service Managers, Project Managers, the 3i business and external suppliers to implement change, maximising benefit to 3i. To indentify, conceive, implement and deliver technical solutions in line with team and corporate strategy.
Responsibilities
- Produce technical and functional specifications for solutions
- Develop Proof of Concepts or solutions
- Manage developers to implement solutions or correct problems with current implementations
- Perform business analysis relating to 3i systems and define system requirements or identify technical solutions working closely and effectively with business owners, key business users, external contractors and 3rd party suppliers to ensure delivery of appropriate solutions of high quality that meet the business requirement
- Manage projects ensuring that the GBITS project process is followed and that reporting deadlines are met
- Ensure that any new systems or infrastructure, or changes implemented, are fully tested, achieve justifying benefits, are delivered on time, are delivered within budget, are delivered with full and effective training, are delivered without disruption to the existing service and are effectively handed over to the relevant service team, service desk and 2nd line support
- Applications and infrastructure implemented must comply with departmental standards (e.g. architecture and security standards)
- Projects, Applications and infrastructure should align with 3i goals and strategy
- Work in close partnership with support & operations, service teams and other project teams to ensure that the live service is protected at all times and that all projects are run as efficiently and effectively as possible
- Promote and market GBITS to 3i Group and externally
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of current and emerging technologies which are or could be relevant to 3i Group
- Actively promote process and procedural improvements where these are of benefit to GBITS and 3i Group
Skills and competencies
Required Skills:
- ASP.NET
- C# and VB.NET development
- SQL Server stored procedures
- Microsoft Sharepoint desirable
- Business Automation desirable
- Effective in dealing with individuals at all levels
- Good written & oral communication
- Time management skills
