3i’s Data Protection Policy - for Recruitment at 3i
This policy applies to all individuals applying for employment at 3i.

This policy applies to all individuals applying for employment at 3i.  It ensures compliance with applicable data protection laws and legislation, including the Data Protection Act 1998 (UK), and describes the type of information we hold about you, the purposes for which it will be used and how it is kept accurate and secure.

The information that you provide to us during the recruitment process will be held within 3i and will only be used for the purpose of recruitment and selection.  3i will not share such data with any external party other than data processors operating on its behalf who provide adequate protection and ensure the security and confidentiality of your data.

Your name, address, email address and the position you have applied for, together with a copy of your CV, and any interview notes (if you are selected for interview), will be stored on our recruitment database on a secure server to which access is restricted and controlled.

This information is used to track the progress of your application and to generate documents.  Details of unsuccessful candidates will generally be deleted after 12 months from the date of receipt of your application.  In cases where we believe that a candidate, though unsuccessful, may be suitable for employment with 3i in the near future we may hold the CV and other information on our files for a longer period of time.

If you wish for your information to be removed from our records, please e-mail the recruitment team (profservicesrecruitment@3i.com).

As a major international company, 3i processes data across international boundaries, including outside the EU.  In particular your personal data may be transferred within 3i to offices in other countries if we consider that your application would suit a vacancy abroad.

Legislation in the US, and other nations outside the EU, does not always require the same level of protection for personal information as within the EU.  However, in such cases, 3i will ensure that personal data (including sensitive personal data) is held and processed in a manner which meets the high standards required for personal data protection in the EU.

If the recruitment process involves psychometric or other testing, the test results will be held by HR for 12 months, after which they will be destroyed.

It is important that you tell us about any changes in your personal information (eg change in address) that occur during the recruitment process.

If you have any questions about this or experience any issues with your application, please contact the Human Resources Department, 3i plc, 16 Palace Street, London, SW1E 5JD or e-mail the recruitment team (prefservicesrecruitment@3i.com).
