Every year 3i Group plc, like other companies, sends out numerous pages of paper when it communicates with shareholders.

However, new provisions within the Companies Act 2006 now allow companies to communicate more widely with shareholders via electronic means (although all shareholders are of course still entitled to continue to receive hard copy shareholder communications if that is their preference).

Receiving your shareholder communications from 3i Group in electronic form, rather than by paper through the post, will:

  • Reduce 3i Group's printing, paper and postage costs, and in turn the environmental impacts of these; and
  • Allow you to receive shareholder documentation quickly and without the risk of it being lost in the post.

When you register for e-communications, at the appropriate times each year you will be sent a link to the relevant documents on our website, for example the Report and accounts and Notice of Annual General Meeting, by e-mail instead of post.

You will also be able to make proxy appointments and give voting instructions electronically via the Shareview website.

Register for e-communications

There are three easy steps to registering for e-communications:

1. First, have your shareholder reference number to hand (this is a 7 or 8 digit number printed on your share certificate, dividend vouchers, proxy cards and any other correspondence sent to you by our Registrar, Equiniti).

2. Go to the 3i Group registration page on Shareview and complete the registration form.

3. By registering you will confirm your details. The Registrar, for your own security, will then post you an Access number, which you will need in future to log on to the Shareview website. Once you have your Access number, you can manage all aspects of your shareholding online at www.shareview.co.uk.

Shareholders may change the way they wish to receive shareholder communications at any time in the future by writing to our registrar, Equiniti:

You can also use the online Shareview service. In addition, hard copies will be available on request.

Our Registrar is Equiniti (formerly known as Lloyds TSB Registrars). They offer a number of services as follows:

Shareview

The Shareview service from Equiniti gives you more control of your shares and other investments, for instance direct access to data held for you on the share register including recent share movements and dividend details.

You can also register for e-communications on Shareview.

To sign up for the Shareview service at www.shareview.co.uk, you need the 'shareholder reference' printed on your proxy form or dividend stationery - there is no charge to register. Details of software and equipment requirements are given on the website.
