Monish joined 3i in 2005 and focuses on mid market growth capital transactions in South and Southeast Asia.  He is responsible for regional oil and gas deal origination.

His recent transaction experience includes the US$620m private placement for Asia Capital Re, Asia's first independent large risk reinsurance company, and the leveraged investment in Franklin Offshore, a service provider to the offshore and marine industries. He was also involved in the US$45.5m investment in Nimbus, 3i’s maiden investment in India, as well as the US$23m investment in Salamander Energy.

Prior to joining 3i, Monish worked at Cornerstone Asia, a multi-strategy hedge fund where he evaluated investment opportunities in the region.  He began his career at Bain & Company, a management consulting firm where he helped clients address a range of strategic issues.

Monish holds bachelors' degrees in Economics and Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania (Wharton/SEAS) and a master's degree in Business Administration from Harvard University.
