3i has had a presence in South East Asia since 1997, with an office in Singapore. We manage an investment portfolio valued at US$310m in Oil and Gas, Financial Services, Healthcare as well as funds in Japan and Korea.

Pearl Energy was our first investment in South East Asia to IPO in Singapore (April 2005) and Salamander was the first E&P business in three years to list on London’s main board (December 2006).

3i-led US$620m investment in Asia Capital Re, the first exclusively pan-Asia focused independent re-insurer, was awarded the 'Most Innovative Deal - Equity' by The Asset, one of Asia's leading financial magazines, in its Triple A House and Deal Awards 2006.
