3i operates three US offices. Our Venture Capital teams are based in Waltham, Massachusetts, and Menlo Park, California.  Our Private Equity business is headquartered in New York.

3i US Private Equity is led by partners Whitney Bower, Ken Hanau and Robin Marshall.  The partners are supported by teams of sector-focused investment professionals, who provide depth and expertise in individual US markets.  3i is the largest growth capital investor in the world, making minority and majority investments to provide companies flexible financing options. Recent successes include Petrofac, Williams Lea, Westminster Healthcare and Focus Media.

3i US Venture Capital is led by senior partner Allan Ferguson as well as by partners Peter Bollier, Marko Maschek, Robin Murray, Kevin Scott and David Silverman. The partners are supported by teams of investment professionals, who provide knowledge and proficiency in our chosen sectors.  3i is an active investor in venture capital, providing both early and late stage financing. As investors, we look for inspiration to 3i-backed successes on the scale of Bookham, LSI Logic, OSI Pharmaceuticals, RSA Security, Vonage and Cambridge Silicon Radio.
