Hobbs Enters US Market
Retailer announces new partnership with Bloomingdale’s
March 24, 2014: Hobbs, the women’s fashion retailer, is pleased to announce its entry into the USA market at select Bloomingdale’s locations.
Building on its current USA customer base via its online offering, Hobbs’ entry into this major market is in line with its international expansion strategy. The Company will offer its designs in five shops at the following select Bloomingdale’s locations: Bloomingdale’s 59th Street (New York, NY), Bloomingdale’s Chestnut Hill (Boston, MA), Bloomingdale’s King of Prussia (King of Prussia, PA), Bloomingdale’s at The Shops at Riverside (Hackensack, NJ) ), Bloomingdale’s Tysons Corner (McLean, VA). Employing approximately 20 people, the shops will showcase an exclusive edit of the Hobbs collection focused on luxury fabrications, modern tailoring and elegantly crafted daywear. Hobbs opened at Bloomingdale’s 59th Street on March 22, and will be expanding into the additional locations in early April. This move follows the Company’s recent launch of local content websites in Germany, Australia and the USA.
Hobbs London opened its first store in Hampstead in 1981 and now has over 140 stores, throughout the UK and Ireland, and franchise stores in the UAE and Sweden. The classic British brand with a rich design heritage is made up of three complimentary labels; Hobbs London, NW3 and Invitation, each of which has its own signature pieces with a strong emphasis on quality, craftsmanship and attention to detail, from its in-house team of British designers.
