Nature of Business
SLR is a leading international environmental consultancy with an unrivalled reputation for providing expert, tailored services.
With over 1,000 staff globally and offices in the UK, Africa, Australasia, Europe and North America, SLR is one of a very small number of truly international specialists providing advice and support on a wide range of strategic and site-specific issues, to a diverse and growing base of corporate, regulatory and governmental clients.
SLR’s sector coverage includes the oil and gas, mining & minerals, renewable energy & low carbon energy, waste management, planning & development, infrastructure and industrial end-markets.
In May 2008 we took a significant minority stake in SLR to support the business in maintaining its rapid growth, both organically and by acquisition, and in entering new markets.
Since our investment, SLR has completed 18 acquisitions. We have used our international network to support SLR’s expansion of its geographic footprint and sector expertise, as well as providing further funding.
In 2010, SLR entered the Australian market through the acquisition of Heggie's, an environmental consultancy serving the infrastructure, natural resource and land development sectors. SLR's presence in North America was reinforced with the acquisition of Hoefler, an Alaskan based consultancy focused on the energy and mining sectors. In 2014, SLR strengthened its expertise in the oil and gas market through the acquisition of HFP Acoustical Consultants and CCA Environmental. In 2015, SLR acquired Challenge Energy and E.Vironment, bolstering its positions in global upstream consultancy and environmental management and transactional due diligence respectively.
Through our Business Leaders Network, we have introduced Chairman, Graham Love (currently Chairman at Eversholt and ex-CEO of Qinetiq) and Non-Executive Director, Mick Cook (ex-RPS).
