Alejo joined 3i in 2005 and is currently Head of 3i Spain where he is responsible for investments in Spain and Portugal.
Alejo has been involved in a number of 3i’s pan-European deals, having worked in Spain, France and Italy. During this time he has worked on 10 private equity investments including Memora (funerary services), Panreac (analytical reagents manufacturer), Clínica Baviera (ophthalmologic surgery clinics in Spain), Café & Té (coffee bar chain), Boomerang TV (TV production), Prisa Radio (leading Hispanic radio operator) and Labco (analytical tests).
Alejo currently sits on the boards of Memora and Prisa Radio, and also supports the French company Labco in Iberia. Previously, he sat on the boards of Café & Té, Boomerang and La Sirena.
Prior to joining 3i, Alejo worked at Rothschild in Madrid, providing M&A advisory services for companies across several sectors. He was also involved in a number of private equity transactions. Prior to this, Alejo worked for JP Morgan’s Real Estate Group, within its M&A division, in London.
Alejo completed a combined programme of Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and an MBA at ESADE school (Escuela Superior de Administración y Dirección de Empresas, Barcelona). He also holds a Masters in Management CEMS from the London School of Economics and HEC (Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales, Paris). Alejo is fluent in Spanish, English, French and Catalan.
