Al joined 3i as a Sector Partner in October 2006 based in Singapore. In July 2009, he became Senior Adviser (Healthcare), for 3i Investments plc.

Before joining 3i, Al was a senior executive for more than 25 years with Baxter International, a leading global medical supply and services company. From 1997 to 2001, he was President of Baxter Healthcare Asia. Al's healthcare experience covers medical devices, hospital pharmacy products, biopharmaceuticals and homecare services.

With 3i, Al has sub-sector responsibility for global med tech and currently acts as Chairman of one of its investee companies, LHI Technology.

Al holds a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of the Philippines and a Masters in Management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
