As an Investment Director based in Spain, Alejo has participated in deals across Spain and Europe. He joined 3i in 2005 and became part of the Growth Capital team in April 2006. He is also part of 3i's Healthcare team, being the local pointman for new investments in Spain and Portugal in the Healthcare space.

His investment track record includes the buyout of Panreac (analytical reagents manufacturer – October ‘05) and growth investments in Café & Té (coffee bar chain – January ‘06), Sten (sale and rental of formwork and scaffolding – September ‘06), Boomerang TV (TV production – January ’08) and Prisa Radio (leading Hispanic radio operator – April ’08). Alejo also collaborated in the investment phase in Everis (minority investment / consulting – July ’07).

Alejo also worked on the divestment of Baviera (ophthalmologic surgery clinics in Sain - IPO in April '07) and currently participates in the Boards of Directors of Café & Té, Boomerang TV and Prisa Radio.

Prior to joining 3i, Alejo worked at Rothschild in Madrid, providing Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) advisory services for companies in several sectors. At Rothschild, he took part of several private equity transactions, including both buyouts and growth capital deals. Among its completed transactions, Alejo closed the acquisition of Holmes Place health clubs in Spain and Portugal and the entry of a consortium of financial investors in the shareholding structure of B-1998 (controlling shareholder of FCC). He had previously worked for JPMorgan’s Real Estate Group within its M&A division in London.

Alejo has done a combined programme of Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and MBA at ESADE school (Escuela Superior de Administración y Dirección de Empresas, Barcelona), being a member of its alumni network. He also holds a Master in Management CEMS done at London School of Economics and HEC (Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales, Paris). Alejo is fluent in Spanish, English, French and Catalan.
