Biography

As Portfolio Director within 3i’s SMi portfolio team, David manages a portfolio of about 20 higher value legacy assets located within the Midlands region with an approximate book value of £60m. David also leads a national initiative focused on driving improved returns from key underperforming assets.

David joined 3i in 1999 as an investment executive based in the Birmingham office. After three years within the new business team, with increasing specialisation on portfolio management, David transferred to the SMi team in 2002 based in Trinity Park. He has extensive experience of adding value, resolving underperformance issues, financial restructuring and realising value for 3i through a wide spectrum of exit routes. He has a strong network of director and advisor contacts throughout the UK.

David has a degree in Mathematics from Imperial College London, Part III in Applied Mathematics from Cambridge University and an Advance Course in Design, Manufacturing and Management from Cambridge University. Prior to joining 3i, he worked as a management consultant for five years in the UK and USA focused on logistics and supply chain issues.
