Biography

Ere has been managing director of 3i Finland since 2000 and has 12 years of international investment experience. Previously he was managing director of SFK Finance, which managed Finland’s leading venture capital funds and was acquired by 3i in 2000.  Before joining SFK, Ere was president and a member of the board of Yleiselektroniikka Oy (semiconductor producer); an attaché for Industry and Technology for the Ministry of Trade and Industry, Los Angeles, USA; and a business development director for Asko-Upo Oyj (a multi-product conglomerate). Ere specialises in information and communication technology investments across Europe, and he is a member of 3i’s communications team. Key deals that he has been involved in include Fonecta, Iobox and Ponsse.Ere has been on the board of over 20 SMI companies and is a former chairman of the Finnish Venture Capital Association (FVCA) and of a high-tech committee in the European Venture Capital Association (EVCA). He has a Master of Science degree in Engineering from the Helsinki University of Technology and Bachelor of Science degree in Economics (marketing) from Helsinki School of Economics.
