John joined 3i in 2007. Previously, John was with The Carlyle Group where he focused on leveraged buyout opportunities in the technology and advanced industrials sectors. During his tenure at Carlyle, John completed a variety of LBOs across Europe. In addition, he represented Carlyle as non-executive director on the board of Financière Cameca SAS, the holding company of Cameca, a metrology business, and acted as an observer to the boards of NP Aerospace, a composite materials business, and Orthogon Systems, a communications equipment business.

John began his career at UBS in London where he focused on M&A and capital markets transactions in the global telecom services sector, advising on transactions in Europe, China and Japan. John received his BSc in Economics from the London School of Economics.
