Biography
As a senior partner within 3i’s European buyout business, Julian has a broad remit that involves transactions across the UK and Europe. He responsible for the 3i buyout portfolio and 3i's Active Partnership programme.
He has had a leading roles in numerous buyouts which include MORI, Coutts Consulting, E2V, Azzurri, Keolis, Marken and Bestinvest. He has extensive experience in direct management of 3i’s investments including board representation, and their ultimate realisation including trade sales, secondary buyouts and IPO’s.
Julian joined 3i in 1989 and is based in London. He left 3i in 1994 to become CFO of diary manufacturer Charles Letts, rejoining 3i in 1997 when that business was sold successfully.
Prior to 3i, Julian worked for Price Waterhouse and BP. He is is an ACA and holds a BA in economics from Durham University.
