Mark Heappey joined 3i in 1989. He was previously head 3i's Spanish business, of which he became Managing Director in 1998 and has been closely involved in all 3i’s major buyouts in the region in recent years. Mark moved to Spain in 1995, having previously worked in Birmingham. Mark has played a major role in Spanish buyouts including Esmalglass, Pepe Jeans, TCB and La Sirena, 3i Spain’s biggest buyout assets. Prior to joining 3i, he worked for four years at British Coal, and holds a degree in Mining and Engineering and an MBA from London Business School. Mark is a member of the Boards of Directors of both Esmalglass and GES. Mark has also been involved in growth capital deals, AC Hotels and Imaginarium.
