Biography

Nigel joined 3i in 1997 and has more than eight years of international investment experience. In 2000 he was instrumental in establishing the quoted biotech fund, 3iBIT. Prior to joining 3i, Nigel consulted for a number of pharmaceutical companies in the field of rational drug design. Nigel is a specialist healthcare investor, primarily focused on opportunities within the Cambridge biotech cluster, although with wider experience across Europe and the US. Key deals include leading investments in Domantis, Apatech and Arakis. His considerable exit experience includes responsibility for the flotations of Crucell, IsoTis and LA Fitness. Nigel sits on the boards of Apatech, Domantis and Argenta Discovery. He is an active member of the Cambridge biotech community, and he chairs a special interest group developing links between businesses and the University Clinical School.Nigel has an MBA from Warwick Business School, a PhD aspects of in rational drug design from the University of Durham, and a degree in chemistry from the University of Oxford.
