Biography

Robin joined 3i in 2001 as part of the US Venture Capital team and joined the Growth Capital team in 2008. He focuses on internet, media and communications software and services and has experience in operational and strategic management gained at both startup and large international firms. Key deals in which Robin has been involved include Appshop (sold to ATT), Bitfone (sold to HPQ), Demand Media, Fotolog (sold to HIM.PA), Home Decor Products, Kabira, Merchant E-Solutions, Mobile365 (sold to SY),Omniture (OMTR), Placeware (sold to MSFT), Sonim, Speakeasy (sold to BBY) and Vonage (VG).

Prior to 3i, Robin was a founder and CFO of two Silicon Valley start-ups – iPIN and UbiCom. In Europe, Robin worked for McKinsey & Company, J.Sainsbury Plc and Ernst & Young.

Robin holds a BSc in Chemistry from Bristol University and an MBA from Stanford University and he is a Chartered Accountant with the ICAEW. He currently serves on the Boards of Demand Media and Sonim.
