Biography

Ulf joined 3i in 2001 and he focuses on buyouts in the General Industrial sector. He started his career with Fraunhofer Gesellschaft, working with clients in the industrial goods, materials and automotive industries. He headed Fraunhofer's Boston based US operations for three years, before joining the Boston Consulting Group as a senior consultant and project leader in their industrial goods practice. Ulf has experience in buyouts as well as growth capital finance. He heads the German General Industrial sector. His latest deals were the MBO of NORMA Group and the subsequent acquisitions of Nordic competitor ABA and US competitor BREEZE as well as the acquisition of Toronto based Mold Masters.

As an alumnus of the IPT/WZL at RWTH Aachen, the Friedrich-Naumann-Stiftung and the Boston Consulting Group, Ulf has a wide network of contacts. He studied Mechanical Engineering at the Technical University of Aachen (RWTH), where he also received a PhD.

He holds a degree in Business Administration from the FernUniversität Hagen.
