Biography

Whitney joined 3i in 2005 and is a founding Partner of 3i US Growth Capital. He was responsible for formulating the North American investment strategy and building the investment team. Whitney has been involved in investments in Fulcrum Fund Services and Gain Capital.

Prior to joining 3i, Whitney held senior positions with Bain Capital Ventures and Geocapital Partners, leading investments in the business services, media and technology sectors. He began his career in private equity at TA Associates. Over his investing career, Whitney has led investments in a dozen US and European companies.

Whitney has his AB in Economics with honors from Harvard College and his MBA. with honors from Harvard Business School. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. His current Board seats include Fulcrum Fund Services and Gain Capital.
