Company of the year

3i backed AES Engineering has won Company of the Year at the UK's 2007 Growing Business Awards, which are backed by the CBI and Real Deals.

AES was nominated in advance of the event, for the category 'Company of the Year', and the judges were looking for a truly outstanding business.

In their words:

"Simple, really. We're looking for an outstanding business whose growth, ambition and quality of management has enabled it to out-perform its peers financially and has delivered on a compelling business strategy."

The judges were looking for a company that had, in its past full financial year:

• Created new, quality jobs
• Developed and trained its people
• Delivered on an innovative and compelling business strategy
• Launched, or successfully developed, its range of products and services.
