Craneware develops and sells billing software analysis tools for the US healthcare services sector.

Craneware was established in 1999 to develop and sell a software analysis tool used to audit the ‘chargemaster’ billing system used throughout the US healthcare market to produce patients invoicing for government and insurers.

Craneware’s innovative software automates the checking process, which has historically been completed manually by consultancy companies. It aids cash flow and revenue generation for hospitals and ensures full compliance with the chargemaster system. The software is sold both directly, by the in-house sales force, and via distribution agreements.

In total Craneware employs approximately 70 people. In addition to the US sales operation based in Orlando, Florida, there is also a software development, support and administration function based in Livingstone, Scotland, at the company’s headquarters.
