View websiteCSRFounded in 1998, Cambridge Silicon Radio (CSR) designs and manufactures single-chip Bluetooth wireless devices, using its own innovative single-chip architecture.
The company’s devices support wireless data and voice communications between a wide range of products. The founders of CSR came from the design consultancy Cambridge Consultants, where they were responsible for developing application-specific silicon for clients in telecommunications, industrial, automotive and healthcare industries. The team has been at the leading edge of CMOS IC design for RF applications for more than 10 years, culminating in two ground-breaking projects prior to Bluetooth, which demonstrated that RF CMOS ICs could provide major size and cost efficiencies in mobile phones, and illustrated the benefits that short-range radio link capabilities offered to mobile terminals. In addition to its long-term focus on Bluetooth, CSR’s team has significant experience of designing ASICs to meet other wireless communications standards including GSM, UMTS and FLEX. CSR will continue to develop innovative single-chip radio products to meet customer needs and to create new markets. | |
