DruckChemie provides services to the printing and publishing industries. The company engages in activities ranging from the delivery of speciality chemicals and consumables to waste collection and inventory management.
Headquartered in Ammerbuch, Germany, DruckChemie operates 19 outlets across ten European countries and also has operations in Brazil. In total the firm has more than 6,000 customers. A market leader in France and Germany, DruckChemie has sales representatives in more than 50 countries worldwide and supplies more than 1,000 products.
Investment Overview
3i backed the €135m secondary buyout of DruckChemie in May 2008, acquiring the business from SG Capital Europe and Quartus.
Our investment is driving DruckChemie’s growth strategy, to develop strong market positions across all major European markets. Furthermore via our global network of industry experts we are providing the chemical service company with the ability to access previously untapped markets such as the US or Asia. We will also advise on – and help identify – selective acquisition opportunities where relevant.
In addition to this, we have introduced our Active Partnership initiative to identify key sales levers and create a more effective sales force. We have also helped to implement a new management information system and new financial reporting standards and controls across the business, which have improved corporate governance.
