Encon manufactures and distributes insulation materials and related products for the UK construction and industrial sectors.

Its manufacturing business, which accounts for 30% of the company's sales, is the second-largest player in the UK glass fibre insulation market. Its customers are UK builders merchants, insulation distributors, specialist contractors and end-users.

Distribution has 22 depots throughout the UK. It is number two in the market and has a 10% share. Three-quarters of its customers are in the construction industry, for both domestic housing and commercial properties, and a quarter are in the higher margin industrial sector.

Encon's headquarters are in Wetherby, North Yorkshire and the business employs around 750 people.
