Green Corns is a care homes provider based in the North West of England for children aged 9 to 18 years with severe behavioural problems.

Children are referred to Green Corns for placement by local authorities and/or social services throughout the UK. The Department of Health and Education funds placements at the homes.

Green Corns’ care programme is at the ‘top end’ of this sector. It provides staffing ratios of 2:1, 24 hours a day. It houses young people in single occupancy homes with at least two care staff in residence 24 hours a day.

The company’s head office is in Rochdale, Lancashire and in mid-2005, it owned around 55 premises, of which 40 were fully occupied. The company employs approximately 250 people.
