Nature of Business
HTC produces and sells a diamond-based grinding system for professional flooring in manufacturing, commercial and public buildings. The company has expanded continuously since 1987 and has become the market leader in Europe and the US within its niche.
HTC’s head office, along with production and product development is located in Söderköping, Sweden. Sales offices are sited in Germany, France, the UK and the US, with specialised production also located in the UK and the US.
Investment Overview
We were introduced to HTC by Danske Bank and in 2006 after building a relationship with the majority family shareholders, we invested for a minority stake in the business.
We have worked closely with management on a number of initiatives, including the introduction of new Chairman, Paul Bergqvist. Paul ensures strong dialogue between us, the CEO, and the family majority shareholders, enabling us to assist with business strategy. For example we have advised on an initiative to provide an incentive programme for key employees to create alignment with senior management and attract top-level managers. Through our network we also introduced a high-calibre CFO and a Managing Director for Germany.
We are continuing to work closely with HTC on increasing its presence and distribution capabilities in the US, growing sales in Europe and continuing to support their successful ‘Twister’ product.
