Santhera Pharmaceuticals (SWX: SANN) is a Swiss specialty pharmaceutical company focusing on the discovery, development and marketing of small molecule pharmaceutical products for the treatment of severe neuromuscular diseases. 3i was a lead investor in Graffinity and merged the company with Myocontract to become Santhera, which in turn developed into a successful IPO on the Swiss Exchange in 2006. The company’s lead compound; Idebenone, is currently prepared for filing in the EU for Friedreich's Ataxia and is also in late stage clinical development for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) and Leber's Hereditary Optic Neuropathy (LHON). The company is also currently preparing a Phase IIb clinical trial in the US for the treatment of Dyskinesia in Parkinson’s disease
