SLR is one of the world’s leading specialist environmental consultancies. Headquartered in the UK, it has 900 employees working from offices in the UK and Ireland, North America, Australasia and Africa.
It provides advice and support on a wide range of strategic and site-specific issues to a diverse and growing base of business, regulatory and governmental clients around the world. SLR focuses on energy, waste management, mining & minerals and infrastructure sectors. It also provides expert sustainability advice and project management support across these industries.
Investment Overview
In May 2008 we took a significant minority stake in SLR and are supporting the business in maintaining its rapid growth both organically and by acquisition, and in entering new markets.
With our backing, SLR has to date completed nine acquisitions. We have provided support in the negotiation and execution of these acquisitions as well as further funding. M&A has included three transformational deals to enter the South African and Australian markets, develop the US business and reinforce SLR's world-leading technical expertise.
Additionally, we have provided support to SLR’s international expansion strategy using our global network to present opportunities and access new markets. This has included a fact-finding trip to India where the SLR team was introduced to key government officials and business contacts through our local office.
