Our Oil, Gas and Power team is Europe’s most active private equity investor in the European energy sector and we are continuing to develop our business globally.

We focus on supplying growth funding
to expanding businesses and buying
existing businesses with potential for
value creation.

We currently have $1.3bn invested in 15 portfolio companies across these sub-sectors;

Exploration and Production
3i has funded a number of international exploration and production companies such as Venture Production, Delta Hydrocarbons, Salamander Energy, CH4, PEARL Energy and Revus. We are committed to building and creating value with ambitious companies in this sub-sector.

Oil Services
We have established an unrivalled European investment track record, helping to build many successful companies including Dockwise, Petrofac, Vetco and Wood Group.

Gas and Power
We first began investing in gas and power companies in the mid 1990s and we are continuing to establish a strong portfolio and track record with investments in Advanced Power, Electrawinds, GES and Vijai Electrical.

We typically provide value-added funding solutions to oil, gas and power companies through:

• Growth Capital; for minority investments in established, privatelyowned businesses, typically investing $30m – $350m;
• Buyouts; where we provide funding and strategic support to management teams of large private or public companies, typically in companies with an Enterprise Value of up to $1.5bn.
