Biography

Achim Lederle is a Partner in 3i's Venture Portfolio team which is responsible for managing c$1.5bn of investments in the Technology and Healthcare sectors around the world. Achim started his career in the venture business in 1997 at Technologieholding VC, which was acquired by 3i in 2000. His focus was on Start-ups exploiting technology and market advantage to achieve exponential growth. Based in Munich he cares for companies in Europe and the US.

Achim specializes in information technology, internet businesses and Cleantech investments. He was the responsible investment executive for numerous successful investments and exits e.g. Brokat, one of the major successes of the "Neue Markt"; NXN Software, a leading asset management software for the computer games industry; Ibsen Microstructure, a Dutch optical component manufacturer; dtms Deutsche Telefon und Marketing Services, the first independent German service number provider; DocMorris, Europe's leading mail order pharmacy acquired by Celesio; SFC Smart Fuel Cell, the leading fuel cell provider for military applications and recreation vehicles; and numerous others.

Currently Achim is a director of a number of exciting companies including DIS Digital Imaging Systems, a spin-off from Dialog Semiconductor; BuyVIP, the online private outlet active in Spain, Italy and Germany; Firstgate, Germany's leading online payment provider; Mindjet, the US based mind mapping software provider; 1-2-3-TV, the leading TV auctioning channel and Enocean, which provides self-powered wireless sensor technology.

Achim has worked as a consultant at Deloitte Consulting before he joined Technologieholding VC. He has a degree in Business Administration from University of Augsburg.
