Buyout Review 2006

2006 was a great year for the Buyouts team, both in terms of new investments and realisations. We also worked with our portfolio companies to support their growth ambitions - particularly with Norma a leading supplier of components for the automotive industry, who we are helping to develop their Asian capabilities by providing strategic and operational advice as well as introducing key contacts. In the year we increased our stake to a majority in Giocchi Preziosi, Europe's second largest toy company, and identified further areas of growth such as retail profitability and management of the property portfolio.  The merger of Carema and Mehilanen established an enlarged group where each business has a great brand in it's local market creating a leading private community healthcare company in the Nordic countries.
