    Nigel is a Partner in 3i’s Infrastructure team in London and joined 3i in November 2013, following 3i’s acquisition of Barclays Infrastructure Funds Management Limited. He joined BIFM in 2002, previously having been head of PFI/PPP Advisory Services at PwC.

    Nigel led BIFM’s involvement in the formation and management of Infrastructure Investors (I2), a pioneering secondary market infrastructure fund, in which BIFM had a joint venture interest alongside Societe Generale and 3i. He was also instrumental in establishing, and continues to manage, BIIF, a long-term ‘buy and hold’ PPP fund which acquired I2 in 2009.

    He has an honours degree in Chemistry from Oxford University and is a qualified Chartered Accountant.

    Thomas joined 3i in May 2017 as an Associate in the Infrastructure team in London, and is primarily responsible for the origination and execution of deals in the infrastructure and energy sector.

    Prior to joining 3i, Thomas worked in the investment banking department of UBS, with a focus on power, utilities and infrastructure.

    Thomas holds a Master in Management from ESCP Europe (France) and a BSc in Economics from Nova School of Business and Economics (Portugal).

    Scott joined 3i in 2007 and is a Partner in the Infrastructure team, with co-management responsibility for the team’s new investment origination and execution platform. He has 18 years' experience in European Infrastructure, spanning utilities, transportation and social infrastructure.

    Whilst at 3i, Scott has led the investments in Tampnet, Elenia, ESVAGT and Cross London Trains, as well as being a senior deal team member on Eversholt. He was also responsible for the successfully exited junior debt investments in Arqiva, Associated British Ports, Telediffusion de France, Thames Water and Viridian.

    He is currently a Director on the boards of ESVAGT A/S and Cross London Trains.

    Prior to joining 3i, Ed worked in the Business Modelling team at Ernst & Young, with a focus on financial services. He holds a BSc in Accounting & Finance from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and is a Chartered Accountant.

    Ed is a qualified solicitor who joined 3i’s Infrastructure Team as legal counsel in September 2017.

    He has responsibility for legal and regulatory aspects of new investments and divestments, portfolio management and legal risk management.  Prior to joining 3i, Ed worked at the law firm Travers Smith LLP from 2012 to 2017, specialising in M&A and private equity.

    Sebastian is an Associate Director in 3i's Infrastructure team in London and joined in 2017. He is responsible for the strategic asset management of portfolio companies in the UK and continental Europe. In this role, Sebastian works closely with management teams on strategy and performance improvement initiatives. Sebastian's role also involves the origination, evaluation and execution of deals, with a particular focus on the energy and utility sectors.

    Sebastian brings 10 years’ experience in strategy development, most recently from National Grid where he was a member of the Group & UK/EU Strategy team, and prior to that from Roland Berger, where he was a core member of the European Energy & Utilities team.

    Sebastian holds an MBA from INSEAD, a MSc in Business Management from ESCP Europe and an engineering degree from Technical University Berlin.

    Tim joined 3i in 2007, where his focus is on the origination, execution and debt financing of infrastructure investments.

    His transaction experience includes Attero, Belfast City Airport, East Surrey Pipelines, Elenia, ESVAGT, Infinis, Oystercatcher, Scandlines, Tampnet, TCR and WIG.

    Prior to joining 3i, he was at RBC Capital Markets, having started his career in the European financial restructuring group at Houlihan Lokey.

    Tim has an MA and an MPhil in Economics from St John's College, Cambridge.

    Bernardo joined 3i in 2015 as a Partner with responsibility for origination and execution of new investments across Europe, principally economic infrastructure businesses.

    Bernardo has 18 years of infrastructure investment experience and was most recently a Partner at Antin Infrastructure which manages funds investing in infrastructure opportunities across Europe.

    Prior to Antin, Bernardo was Managing Director, Head of Acquisitions for Deutsche Bank’s European infrastructure fund. His prior experience was in utilities, as Head of M&A at Energias de Portugal, and in infrastructure advisory with UBS and Citigroup.

    Bernardo holds an economics degree from the Nova School of Business and Economics in Lisbon, Portugal.

    Jim is a solicitor with almost twenty years’ experience in infrastructure and private equity investment and funds. He has worked as senior counsel in 3i’s Infrastructure Team since 2007, with responsibilities for legal risk management, legal and regulatory aspects of new investment, portfolio management, fund structuring, and equity and debt raising by 3i and its fund clients. Jim joined 3i in 1998, initially working with the UK investment business and subsequently for the wider 3i corporate group.

    Jim qualified as a solicitor and worked at international private equity and M&A law firm Ashurst from 1993 to 1998.

    Prior to joining 3i, Yaad worked in the Corporate Finance division of Ernst & Young. Yaad is a chartered accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland and holds a BSc in mathematics from Bristol University.

    Daniel joined 3i in 2016 and is responsible for origination, execution and asset management of infrastructure investments. 

    Daniel was previously a Principal at Hudson Clean Energy Partners, an energy focused private equity and infrastructure firm. While at Hudson he served as Program Manager and member of the Investment Committee of the firm’s infrastructure fund and was actively involved in various private equity and infrastructure transactions. He is also a cofounder of Sunlight Financial LLC, a specialty finance company focused on residential solar in the U.S.

    At 3i he has been involved in the acquisition of Infinis’ landfill gas business, Alkane Energy, Attero, a portfolio of PPP projects and a portfolio of assets from the EISER Global Infrastructure Fund via a newly established 3i-managed vehicle. He is currently on the Boards of Infinis Energy Management Limited and Attero Holding BV.

    Daniel received a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Cambridge, resulting in various scientific publications and a Research Fellowship from the Royal Academy of Engineering. His academic credentials also include a MSc in Business Management from the École Supérieure de Commerce de Paris (EAP-ESCP) and a graduation with distinction from the Technical University Berlin in both Business and Engineering.

    Phil joined 3i in 2007 and is Managing Partner and Head of 3i’s Infrastructure business and a member of 3i’s Executive Committee, Investment Committee and Group Risk Committee.

    Prior to joining 3i, he was Division Director in Macquarie’s Infrastructure Funds business, where he managed investments in the transport sector. Phil has over 20 years of infrastructure investment, advisory and finance experience from earlier roles at Barclays and WestLB.

    Phil has an MBA from London Business School.
