Managing Partner, Asset Management Group

Ian joined 3i in 1987 and became a Partner in 1994 prior to its IPO on the London Stock Exchange. In his current role as Managing Partner, Asset Management, Ian is involved in investing and asset management activity across 3i Private Equity and Infrastructure.
He sits on the boards of a number of leading, international companies including: AESSEAL (seals for rotating equipment), Cirtec Medical (medical device outsourcing) and Tato Holdings (biocides and specialty chemicals). Ian is also a Director of 3i Infrastructure plc, the FTSE250 listed long-term investor in infrastructure businesses and assets, and an NED of BSI Group, the global standards and services company driving company excellence and resilience.
Prior to his current role, Ian led 3i’s Technology business in Europe having invested in areas including security software (Sophos), artificial intelligence (Searchspace), mobile technology (Nujira).
Ian graduated in Chemical Engineering from the University of Birmingham. Prior to 3i, Ian worked as an Engineer for BOC Specialty Gases in the UK supplying the medical, semi-conductor and space research sectors.

Chief Human Resources Officer

Julien Marie is Chief Human Resources Officer and is a member of the Executive Committee. Julien has overall responsibility for the firm’s talent strategy, the HR operational support and the Human Resources team. He works across all geographies and Business lines.
Prior to joining 3i, Julien worked at Bouygues Construction and Bouygues Telecom for six years.
Julien has a degree in Politics from Sciences Po Paris and a MA in Human Resources from the University of Paris Pantheon-Assas.

Joy heads up 3i's Business Leaders Network. She works across sectors and geographies to build strategic relationships and enable international connectivity with Board level executives and non-executive directors for 3i's existing portfolio of assets and pipeline investment opportunities.
Prior to joining 3i, Joy worked as an Executive Search Consultant at private equity specialist search firm, Skillcapital, placing board level management for private equity portfolio companies and senior advisers pre-deal.
Previously, Joy spent five years working at Goldman Sachs in the Private Wealth Management division, with a focus on investment strategy. She holds a first class honours Masters degree in Quantitative Finance from University College Dublin.

Senior Legal Counsel

Hazel is a solicitor with over ten years’ experience in infrastructure.
She joined 3i’s Infrastructure Team as legal counsel in January 2015, with responsibility for legal risk management, legal and regulatory aspects of new investments, portfolio management and debt financing.
Prior to this, Hazel worked in the Projects, Energy and Infrastructure team at Allen & Overy LLP from 2006 – 2014, specialising in infrastructure financing and PPP projects.
Hazel has a MA in Modern History from the University of Oxford and is a qualified solicitor.

Ben joined 3i in February 2021 and is an Associate in the Infrastructure team based in London. He is primarily responsible for the origination and execution of deals and the management of assets across the economic infrastructure space.
Prior to joining 3i, Ben worked at Macquarie Capital in London, with a focus on Renewable Energy transactions.
Ben holds a BA in Economics from the University of Cambridge.

Neel is an Associate Director in 3i’s Infrastructure team in London and joined 3i in January 2016. He is primarily responsible for the origination and execution of deals and the management of assets in the infrastructure sector.
Prior to joining 3i, Neel worked as a Financial Analyst at Columbia Threadneedle Investments.
Neel is a Chartered Accountant and holds a BSc in Money, Banking and Finance from The University of Birmingham.

Scott Moseley joined the Infrastructure team in 2007 and was made Partner in 2012. Scott became Managing Partner and Co-Head of European Infrastructure in July 2022 and is also a member of 3i’s Executive Committee and Investment Committee.
Together with Bernardo Sottomayor, Scott is responsible for managing a team with approximately £6bn in invested capital across four Infrastructure funds, including our flagship fund, 3i Infrastructure plc, which has achieved asset level returns of 19% p.a. since its inception.
Scott has direct investment experience across various sub-sectors including Digital Infrastructure (Tampnet and GCX), Energy (Elenia and ESVAGT), Transportation (Eversholt Rail Group) and Social Infrastructure (Cross London Trains).

Jonathan is a solicitor with over 30 years’ experience in corporate, corporate finance and London Stock Exchange matters. He has been with 3i since 1995 as Counsel and Senior Counsel. Jonathan is currently Group Deputy Company Secretary with responsibility for the Group Secretariat.
Jonathan qualified as a solicitor and was an associate with Norton Rose in London from 1984 to 1995. He has a degree in law from the University of Cambridge and was a Visiting Instructor in the Law School at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Justine joined 3i in June 2021 as an Associate in the UK Private Equity team.
Prior to joining 3i, Justine worked in the M&A team at Credit Suisse, advising clients on M&A transactions across the Consumer and Industrials sectors.
Justine holds a Masters in Finance from Imperial College.

Claudio joined 3i in September 2019, and is an Associate in the Infrastructure team based in London. He is responsible for the origination and execution of new investments in Europe, as well as supporting the activities of portfolio companies including Oystercatcher, Belfast City Airport and SRL Traffic Systems.
He has previous experience from Barclays Investment Bank and CVC Credit Partners.
Claudio holds a MSc in International Finance from HEC Paris and a BSc in Economics from Universitá Cattolica del Sacro Cuore.

Marta joined 3i in October 2021 and is an Associate in the Infrastructure team based in London. She is primarily responsible for the origination and execution of deals and the management of assets across the economic infrastructure space.
Prior to joining 3i, Marta worked in Sumitomo Corporation Europe, with a focus on deal origination and execution, and asset management, and in the investment banking division of Société Générale as part of the Energy and Infrastructure team.
Marta holds a degree in Biomedical Science from Queen Mary University of London.

Ed is a qualified solicitor who joined 3i’s Infrastructure Team as legal counsel in September 2017.
He has responsibility for legal and regulatory aspects of new investments and divestments, portfolio management and legal risk management. Prior to joining 3i, Ed worked at the law firm Travers Smith LLP from 2012 to 2017, specialising in M&A and private equity.

Alastair is Head of Legal for 3i's Private Equity team, with responsibility for legal risk management and the provision of legal support for new investments, portfolio matters, exits and fundraising activities to 3i's international Private Equity business.
Alastair joined 3i in 1998 from the law firm, Nabarro LLP, where he worked as an Associate specialising in international corporate M&A and private equity. He holds a BA joint honours degree in Economics & Law from Durham University and is qualified as a Solicitor in England & Wales. Alastair is also vice chair of the BVCA Legal & Accounting Committee.

Chris is a Director in 3i's Infrastructure team in London with a focus on origination, execution and asset management of investments in Europe.
Prior to joining 3i, Chris worked in transaction services at PwC where he focused on providing post-deal support to private equity backed businesses. He previously led the European corporate finance team at a large European real estate developer and construction business.
Chris holds a BSc in Accounting & Statistics, and is a Chartered Accountant.

Silvia is responsible for 3i’s programme of relations with public market investors and analysts and for sustainability reporting and communications.
Before joining 3i in 2007, Silvia worked at Finsbury, the financial communications consultancy, for nearly two years, and in Citi’s Equity Capital Markets division for seven years.
Silvia has a BSc(Econ) in Government and an MSc(Econ) in European Politics and Policy from the London School of Economics.

David is Strategy Director for 3i’s Infrastructure team and joined in 2021. He is responsible for the planning and implementation of key strategic and operational initiatives as well as the development of growth and fund activities, including those related to ESG.
Prior to joining 3i, David was part of PwC's Deals team in London and New York providing buy-side, sell-side, and value creation support to investors and management teams.
David is a CFA charterholder and has a degree in Finance and Economics from The College of New Jersey.
