Markus Abeler

Markus joined 3i in May 2023 as an Associate in the Infrastructure team based in London. He is primarily responsible for the origination and execution of deals and the management of assets across the economic infrastructure space.

Prior to joining 3i, Markus worked at HSBC in London, covering M&A across Transport, Logistics, Infrastructure, and Construction.

Markus holds a BA in Economics from New York University.

Bryan Acutt

Director

Bryan is a Director in 3i's Infrastructure team in London and joined in January 2016. He is responsible for the portfolio and asset management of infrastructure and energy projects in the UK and continental Europe, including the valuation of the funds, reporting to portfolio lenders and investors, portfolio value enhancement and yield management.

Prior to joining 3i, Bryan worked at Amber Infrastructure where he was involved in portfolio management and asset valuation of International Public Partnership. Prior to Amber, Bryan worked at Deloitte in Australia and South Africa.

Bryan has a Bachelor of Accounting Science (Honours).

Ashutosh Agrawal

Ashutosh joined 3i in 2011 and has more than nine years experience in various roles in private equity and management consulting. He manages various assets across the power, roads, ports and healthcare sectors. He supports 3i's existing portfolio companies in assessing the Indian market. He has delivered three exits in India for 3i.

Prior to 3i, he worked at A.T.Kearney where he was involved in advising clients across multiple sectors including telecoms, energy, logistics and automotive. He also worked at Lehman Brothers and briefly at General Atlantic in their Mumbai office.

Ashutosh holds a Management degree from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad and a Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.

Antony Amalor

Antony is an Associate in the UK Private Equity team.

Prior to joining 3i in February 2022, Antony worked in the EMEA Business Services Group at Morgan Stanley, advising clients on a range of transactions across the Business Services sector.

Antony holds a BSc(Hons) from Bayes Business School (formerly Cass Business School).

Simon Andersen

Digital Director

Simon Friberg Andersen is a Digital Director based in London. His role is to drive digital strategies in 3i’s portfolio companies across Europe and the US and help add digital businesses to the 3i portfolio. He currently serves on the Board of Konges Sløjd.

Prior to joining 3i in 2018, Simon managed international ecommerce businesses at M&S (UK) and Woolworths (Australia), he co-founded a data start-up (Userneeds), and started his career at the Boston Consulting Group.

Simon graduated from the Copenhagen Business School, where he earned a MS in Business Administration majoring in Finance.

George Archer

George joined 3i in 2011 and is a Partner in its Banking Team. He has 28 years of banking experience and has worked on financing transactions for many of 3i’s current and former portfolio companies, including Action, Arrivia, Aspen Pumps, Audley Travel, Basic Fit, BoConcept, Cirtec Medical, Dutch Bakery, Dynatect, Element, Eltel, ESG, Hans Anders, Kinolt, Lekolar, MAIT, Magnitude, Mepal, MKM, OneMed, Q Holding, Royal Sanders, Sanisure, SLR, Wilson HCG and Yanga.

Prior to 3i, George worked at The Royal Bank of Scotland, Bank of America and Barclays Capital, specialising in leveraged finance and sponsor coverage. He has also held positions in leveraged loan syndications and in corporate restructuring.

George holds a BSc (Hons) degree in Biochemistry from Imperial College (University of London), a BSc (Hons) degree in Financial Services from UMIST and a MSc degree in Operational Research from Strathclyde University.

Zack Barron

Zack joined 3i in 2019 as an Associate in the North American Infrastructure team.

Prior to joining 3i, Zack was an Analyst at Wells Fargo Securities where he focused on M&A and financing advisory in the industrial services sector.

Zack holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School.

Sam Beach

Sam joined 3i in 2021 as a member of its North American Private Equity team based in New York.

Prior to joining 3i, Sam worked as an Associate at Windjammer Capital Investors, where he invested in a broad range of advanced manufacturing, specialty distribution, and business service industry sectors.  He was also previously an Analyst at Harris Williams & Co.

Sam received an MBA from The Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and a BS from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia.

Jake Behrman

Jake joined 3i in 2018 in the New York office and is a member of the Healthcare sector coverage team. Jake has been involved in 3i’s investments in Cirtec Medical, SaniSure, and ten23 Health.

Prior to joining 3i, Jake worked as an Associate at Metalmark Capital, a middle-market private equity that has managed more than $8 billion through its funds. While at Metalmark, he helped execute a number of platform investments and transformative portfolio company acquisitions. Jake was previously an Analyst in the Global Healthcare Investment Banking Group at Morgan Stanley.

Jake graduated from the University of Michigan’s Stephen M. Ross School of Business with High Distinction.

Jarrett Bellin

Jarrett joined 3i in 2023 as a member of its North American Private Equity team based in New York.

Prior to joining 3i, Jarrett was an Investment Banking Analyst with Guggenheim in the Industrials Group, where he focussed on M&A advisory and capital raising transactions. Jarrett was also previously an Investment Banking Analyst at Scotiabank.

Jarrett graduated summa cum laude from Southern Methodist University with a B.B.A. in Finance and a specialisation in Alternative Asset Management.

Chouaib Benlahoussine

Chouaib joined 3i in January 2019 and is a Senior Associate in the Infrastructure team based in Paris. He is primarily responsible for the origination and execution of deals across the Economic Infrastructure and Projects space. He is currently involved in Valorem.

Previously, he was an Associate in the Energy and Infrastructure team at BNP Paribas in Paris, covering Financial Advisory and Project / Acquisition Financing (origination, structuring and execution) in the EMEA region.

Chouaib graduated from the Ecole des Ponts ParisTech and holds an MSc in Infrastructure Project Finance.

Paolo Bergamelli

Paolo is a Director in 3i’s Infrastructure team in London and joined 3i in 2015. He is responsible for the origination, execution and asset management of infrastructure investments. His transaction experience includes Wireless Infrastructure Group, Infinis, Tampnet, Anglian Water, Herambiente and Global Cloud Xchange. He is currently on the board of Herambiente.

Prior to joining 3i, Paolo worked in the investment banking division of UBS, advising on Infrastructure, Transport and Telecom transactions.

Paolo holds a MSc in Finance from Bocconi University.

Victor Bessis

Victor is an Associate in the Private Equity team based in London.

Prior to joining 3i in 2020, Victor gained internship experience in technology M&A at Cambon Partners in Paris and in Venture Capital at Global Founders Capital (Paris and New York).

Victor is involved with 3i's investment in MPM, an international leader in branded, premium, natural pet food.

Victor holds a BA from the University of Cambridge and an MSc in International Finance from HEC Paris.

Gaurav Bhurat

Gaurav joined 3i in 2011 and has been involved in both Infrastructure and Private Equity investments.

Prior to 3i, Gaurav worked at TVS Capital, a mid-market private equity fund, where he invested in banking, retail, healthcare and other consumer-oriented plays. He has also invested in European Private Equity and high yield debt at Goldman Sachs and in US small cap public equities at Boston Avenue Capital LLC, a billion $ hedge fund.

Gaurav holds an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad and is a qualified Chartered Accountant.

Casper de Bok

Casper joined 3i in 2021 in the Benelux Private Equity team and is a deal team member of European Bakery Group, Royal Sanders and Basic-Fit.

Prior joining 3i, Casper gained internship experience in sell-side M&A at Lincoln International and mid-market Private Equity at Avedon Capital Partners.

Casper holds a BSc degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Technical University of Delft.

Simon Borrows

Simon was appointed Chief Executive in May 2012 after joining 3i in October 2011 as Chief Investment Officer.

Prior to joining 3i, Simon was Chairman of Greenhill & Co International LLP, having previously been Co-Chief Executive Officer of Greenhill & Co. Inc. Before founding the European operations of Greenhill & Co, he was the Managing Director of Baring Brothers International Limited.

Simon has a law degree from London University and an MBA from London Business School.
