    Sachin focuses on originating and executing Private Equity investments across a range of industry sectors, primarily within the UK.

    Recent deals Sachin has worked on include: the acquisition of Aspen Pumps, the global market leader in condensate removal pumps for air conditioning units; the sale of Element Materials Technology, a market leading global laboratory-based testing company, to Bridgepoint (4.5xMM); and the sale of MKM Building Supplies, the UK’s largest independent builders’ merchant to Bain Capital (5.9xMM). Sachin also assists with the portfolio management of AESSEAL and Aspen Pumps.

    Other deals and portfolio companies that he has been involved in include Civica (IT software and services), Inspicio (testing, inspection and certification), the sale of Inspectorate to Bureau Veritas, SLR Consulting Limited (environmental consulting), Bestinvest (wealth management) and BVG India (facilities management).  He is currently a Director on the Boards of Aspen Pumps, Hobbs and SLR Consulting Limited. Previously he was a Director of Civica, ESG and Bestinvest.

    Prior to joining 3i, Sachin worked in investment banking at Citigroup where he focused on the industrial and services sectors. He has a post-experience Masters in Finance from Cambridge University and a BSc in Chemistry & Management from Imperial College London.

    Prior to joining 3i, Laura worked in the investment banking divisions of Evercore and J.P. Morgan in London and Frankfurt advising on Infrastructure, Transport and Energy transactions.

    Laura holds a MSc in International Business from Maastricht University, Netherlands and Queen’s University, Canada and a Master of European Studies from TU Berlin, Germany.

    Boris Kawohl is a Partner, based in Amsterdam. He joined 3i in 2005 and has focused on investments in the Consumer sector since 2010.

    Most recently Boris led the public to private of BoConcept (global furniture brand), headquartered in Denmark. Boris was a key deal member on Action (non-food discount retailer) and Basic-Fit (value for money discount fitness chain) which was IPOed in 2016. Previously, he was a deal team member of Refresco (private label soft drinks, IPOed 2015), Electrawinds (renewable energy) and Kneip (BPO company), based in Luxembourg.

    Prior to 3i, Boris worked in the M&A department of ABN AMRO and at Nederlandse Gasunie during the de-merger of the company.

    Ben joined 3i in 2017 as a Partner in the North American Infrastructure team. Prior to joining 3i, Ben was an Investment Director at Hastings Funds Management where he was responsible for the origination, execution and management of infrastructure equity investments. He was a member of Hastings’ Investment Committee and Asset Review Committee.

    Earlier in his career, Ben was an Associate in the Global Commodities Group at Lehman Brothers focusing on structured commodity transactions involving power, natural gas, coal, renewables and emissions for independent power and regulated utility clients.

    Previously, he was an Analyst in Lehman's Global Power Group focusing on mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity financings and corporate advisory to power and utility companies in the United States.

    Ben holds a Bachelor’s degree in economics and mathematics from Colgate University.

    Anil joined 3i in 2007 and is the Partner responsible for 3i's Banking Team within the Private Equity division.

    The team has a broad international remit and is responsible for the firm's relationships with its financing institutions and provides specialist banking advice spanning all key financing stages associated with new and existing portfolio assets across 3i Private Equity. This includes raising primary acquisition finance, advising on the management of leveraged capital structures and preparing exit financing. Financing products cover the full debt capital markets spectrum.

    Anil has worked on transactions across 3i’s international platform including Scandlines, Mayborn, Norma, Xellia, Civica, Memora, Refresco, Hilite, Amor, GEKA, Christ, WP, ATESTEO, Schlemmer, Ponroy, Lampenwelt and Formel D.

    Anil has over 22 years of banking experience, having started at Lloyds Bank Corporate Banking in 1995. Anil subsequently worked for Dresdner Kleinwort from 1999, where he held various positions in Credit Risk Management, Structured Finance and Corporate Finance & Advisory, completing landmark transactions across a wide range of geographies, sectors and financing structures. Anil studied at Sussex University and holds a BA in Economics and is an Associate Member of Corporate Treasurers.

    In his role as Chief Operation Officer (COO), Tony is responsible for the operational running of 3i’s international Private Equity business.

    His responsibilities include the strategic development of the business, financial planning and reporting, business processes and systems, resource management, portfolio monitoring and valuations.

    Having previously qualified as a chartered accountant with KPMG, Tony joined 3i in 1998 initially working in 3i’s Group Finance team.

    Over his career at 3i, Tony has been involved in the reshaping of 3i’s Private Equity business, including its international development and integration.

    Tony has a Geography degree from Loughborough University.

    Ian joined 3i in 1987 and became a Partner in 1994 prior to its IPO on the London Stock Exchange. Currently based in London, having previously been based in Paris, he is an experienced investor and Board member across three continents, business types and sectors including Industrials and Business & Technology Services.

    In his current role as Managing Partner, Asset Management, Ian is involved in investing and asset management activity across 3i.

    His current board focus is on a number of leading, international companies including: AESSEAL (seals for rotating equipment); ACR Capital Holdings (pan-Asian reinsurance); Cirtec Medical (medical device outsourcing) and Tato (specialty chemicals). Ian is also a Director of 3i Infrastructure plc, the FTSE250 listed long-term investor in infrastructure businesses and assets.

    Prior to his current role, Ian led 3i’s Technology business in Europe having invested in areas including security software (Sophos), artificial intelligence (Searchspace), mobile technology (Nujira) and genomics (Oxagen).

    Ian is a member of the 3i Group Investment Committee and the BVCA UK and European Capital Committee.

    Ian graduated in Chemical Engineering from the University of Birmingham. Prior to 3i, Ian worked as an Engineer for BOC Specialty Gases in the UK supplying the medical, semi-conductor and space research sectors.

    Rahul Lulla joined 3i in 2012 as a member of the North American Private Equity team.

    He focuses on Business & Technology Services (including healthcare services) and Industrial (including fluid management) sectors and has been involved in 3i’s investments in Mold-Masters, Quintiles, TouchTunes, Q Holdings and Dynatect Manufacturing, Inc. He currently sits on the Board of Dynatect Manufacturing, Inc.

    Previously, Rahul worked at Monitor Clipper Partners in Boston, where he focused on investments in business services and consumer. Prior to this, Rahul worked at Credit Suisse in New York where he was a member of the Investment Banking Division’s Healthcare Group.

    Rahul received a BA in Economics and Mathematics with Honors from Vassar College, and an MBA with Honors from Columbia Business School.

    Céline is an Associate Director in 3i's Infrastructure team in London and joined 3i in November 2013, following 3i’s acquisition of Barclays Infrastructure Funds Management Limited. She joined BIFM in 2011. Her role involves originating, evaluating and executing new investment opportunities in the infrastructure sector, as well as managing existing investments with a particular focus on transport and power transmission.

    She led 3i Infrastructure plc’s investment in West of Duddon Sands OFTO and she was involved in 3i Infrastructure’s plc investment in TCR, the European ground support equipment leasing business. Most recently, Céline worked on the acquisitions of four transport concessions in Spain.

    Céline holds an MBA from ESSEC Business School (Paris).

    Javier Martin is an Associate Director in 3i Spain. He joined 3i in 2008 and is based in Madrid.

    Javier has 10 years’ experience in finance, including over eight years in private equity. He has worked in several regions including Iberia, Nordics, France and the Benelux, and across the Business & Technology Services, Industrial and Consumer sectors. Javier has served on the Board of various 3i investments, and is currently a Non-Executive Director of Mémora Inversiones Funerarias, 3i’s largest investment in Iberia.

    Prior to 3i, Javier was an Analyst in the Investment Banking Division of Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where he worked on a number of deals with a focus on the energy and power sector. He holds a bachelor’s degree with honours in Business Administration with a major in Finance from Boston College. Javier speaks English, Spanish, Italian and French.

    Severin joined 3i in 2014 as member of the German Private Equity team.

    He was a deal team member on 3i’s investments in Christ, Schlemmer and Formel D. He is an observer on the Advisory Board of ATESTEO, the leading independent provider for drivetrain testing services.

    Before joining 3i, Severin spent two years at UBS Investment Bank covering the German-speaking region. He also worked as Business Development Manager for a portfolio company of HAL Investments, which is active in the sale of medical aids.

    Severin graduated with a CEMS Master in International Management from the Rotterdam School of Management (the Netherlands) and HEC Paris (France).

    His role involves originating, evaluating and executing new investment opportunities in France and the Benelux, with a focus on the health, education, justice, transport and technology sectors, as well as managing existing investments.

    Prior to joining the team as a permanent employee, Antoine completed a four month internship with the BIFM team, based in London, and a six month internship with Lazard in Paris. Antoine graduated from Ecole Centrale Paris and holds a Licence in Economics, obtained with Honours, from the Paris Dauphine University.

    Prior to joining 3i, Joy was at Skillcapital, working exclusively with private equity funds across Europe to recruit buy-in management teams for LBOs and board level management for PE portfolio companies. Joy began her career in finance with Goldman Sachs and spent five years working in the Private Wealth Management division, with a focus on asset allocation strategies. She holds a first class honours Masters degree in Quantitative Finance from University College Dublin.

    Hazel is a solicitor with over ten years’ experience in infrastructure.

    She joined 3i’s Infrastructure Team as legal counsel in January 2015, with responsibility for legal risk management, legal and regulatory aspects of new investments, portfolio management and debt financing.

    Prior to this, Hazel worked in the Projects, Energy and Infrastructure team at Allen & Overy LLP from 2006 – 2014, specialising in infrastructure financing and PPP projects.

    Hazel has a MA in Modern History from the University of Oxford and is a qualified solicitor.

    Nigel is a Partner in 3i’s Infrastructure team in London and joined 3i in November 2013, following 3i’s acquisition of Barclays Infrastructure Funds Management Limited. He joined BIFM in 2002, previously having been head of PFI/PPP Advisory Services at PwC.

    Nigel led BIFM’s involvement in the formation and management of Infrastructure Investors (I2), a pioneering secondary market infrastructure fund, in which BIFM had a joint venture interest alongside Societe Generale and 3i. He was also instrumental in establishing, and continues to manage, BIIF, a long-term ‘buy and hold’ PPP fund which acquired I2 in 2009.

    He has an honours degree in Chemistry from Oxford University and is a qualified Chartered Accountant.

    Scott joined 3i in 2007 and is a Partner in the Infrastructure team, with co-management responsibility for the team’s new investment origination and execution platform. He has 15 years experience in European Infrastructure, spanning utilities, transportation and social infrastructure.

    Whilst at 3i, Scott has led the investments in Esvagt, Elenia and Thameslink, as well as being a senior deal team member on Eversholt. He was also responsible for the successfully exited junior debt investments in Arqiva, Associated British Ports, Telediffusion de France, Thames Water and Viridian.

    He is currently a Director on the board of ESVAGT A/S.
